To ski St. Johann all beginners will find some nice, gentle and easy slopes to start off on with some slightly harder ones to progress to. Intermediate skiers and boarders will have access to some varied pistes in the St. Johann area or you can venture into some of the neighbouring resorts to tackle some of the other runs available. St Johann also offers extensive cross country trails while the area is very popular with boarders because of the challenging terrain. Nearby Oberndorf also offers access to a ski and snowboarding park that contains quarter pipes, tables, slides, rails, jumps and kickers. Like Zell am See, St. Johann is known as a lively place to stay. When you come down off the mountain there is a selection of bars and restaurants to keep you going into the small hours of the morning.
