No matter your level of ski skills, you’ll find an array of pistes to suit, in the vast and varied Gastein ski area. Beginners can begin their ski journey at the Angertal area, which offers an array of nursery slopes, while the more technically blessed can make their way to the trickier runs of the Stubnerkogel mountain.
The warm and welcoming ambience of this small village is a huge draw for families, and you’ll find plenty of lovely shops, restaurants, and cafes, in the area as well as two ski schools, and scenery so beautiful, you may never want to leave.

It’s all about a quieter, more relaxed approach to apres ski, in Bad Hofgastein. The pedestrianised centre has a selection of good bars and restaurants, and for alternative après ski activities, you can head to the billiards hall, do a spot of tobogganing, or take the short trip to the casino in Bad Gastein.
A jaunt to the town’s famous Alpentherme thermal spa is a must. Take advantage of the water slides, saunas, Turkish baths and treatment rooms on offer and then head to the spa’s Ice Cube bar to enjoy a few drinks, and take in the spectacular vistas of Gastein Valley!
